You've
got a web site. You may have posted a brief description of your
business, and noticed that it sounds exactly the same as what your
competitors wrote on their web sites. But let's face it; you do the
same thing that they do, and there isn't much else to say about it.
That's when it comes time to get creative.
The
Introverted Entrepreneur's method is to build you a unique personal
brand through educational marketing. There are different ways to
approach this goal, but the basic idea is to position you as an
expert in your field by giving away valuable information that the
people in your target market are looking for. The Introverted
Entrepreneur can help you to create the written content for a number
of different informational products.
You can
quickly position yourself as an expert in any field by making an
electronic book available for download on your web site. For
example, let's suppose you're a real estate investing coach. You
might post a short e-book about how to fix and flip a property in 90
days. A real estate investor who finds your site might initially
intend to do the entire project alone. After reading your book, new
investors might start to see that a first-time deal can become a
bigger undertaking than they thought it was with bigger risks than
they were aware of. Your name will be the one they remember at the
end of the day, and you'll be the one they call when they need
coaching.
We all
know that it takes multiple impressions to make a sale, and we all
know that e-mail campaigns keep you in front of your customer.
However, most e-mail campaigns are quickly ignored or sent to the
"spam" folder. To create an e-mail campaign that your customers
actually read and respond to, you need to stay on top of what your
audience is looking for (and not finding anywhere else). You will
also need to give them the opportunity to raise their hand and
genuinely ask to hear from you (as contrasted with a hidden opt-out
link that you bury at the bottom of a form).
For
example, you might be a search engine optimization expert, and your
clients might be web developers. You might put out an e-mail once or
twice a month highlighting one of your clients. You could describe
the steps you took to raise that business's ranking on the search
engines.
If
you're less on the introverted side, you may prefer to position
yourself as an expert by being the guest speaker at a networking
function. You might also teach workshops or seminars. The
Introverted Entrepreneur can help to design the content for your
presentation that is appropriate to the specific audience and
situation, including written hand-outs.
